Healing the Body

What is massage therapy?

Massage therapy treatment is the manual manipulation of soft tissue (muscle, tendon, ligament and connective tissue) and joints (where two bones meet to create movement), to restore, maintain or enhance body function.

What and who is it for?

Massage therapy can be used to relieve or manage pain, restore or improve movement, and relieve or manage stress. It is appropriate as complimentary care for a wide range of conditions and all ages.

What can you expect?

With our therapists, you can expect high enthusiasm for problem solving and teaching. In addition to assessment and treatment, you can expect to learn about how the body works, and different methods to take care of your body outside of the clinic. They will happily assign your self-care: exercises, stretches, self-massage techniques or hydrotherapy for use regularly outside of the clinic, to give you more control over your own healing or wellness process.

When injury is stemming from or interfering with performance of your art, can you also expect us to do an assessment with your instrument / movement. Also, we will always recommend any other practitioners that may be appropriate in meeting your treatment goals, in addition to / or in place of your treatment here.
